Core Policy
Warranty
Joseph
Industries warrants to the original purchaser, its parts and
remanufactured products to be free from defects in material and
workmanship. This warranty does not cover failures caused by
improper application, improper installation, lack of normal
maintenance, abuse, misuse, accident, contamination, electrical
overload, improper wiring, fire, flood, etc. If a product is
determined by Joseph to be defective, Joseph will, at its
discretion, repair or replace the product as specified, and
therefore not be liable for any other costs or damages.
Remanufactured transmissions and torque converters are
warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of six (6) months or 1000 hours from the date of
installation. Remanufactured engines are warranted to be free
from defects in material and workmanship for a period of twelve
(12) months or 1000 hours, with the exception of remanufactured
engine cylinder heads, which are warranted for a three (3) month
period. Engine and transmission fluid leaks are covered for a
period of three (3) months.
Remanufactured products only may qualify for a reasonable labor
allowance for repair or replacement if found by Joseph
Industries to be defective. To be considered for any labor
allowance, the remanufactured component must have been installed
by an authorized dealer or certified technician and prior
authorization must have been obtained from Joseph Industries as
outlined in the Warranty Procedures below. Joseph will consider
reimbursement for labor costs only, not including fluids,
travel, diagnostic time,
rentals or down-time. Labor costs that are approved will be
issued as a credit toward future purchases at a rate not to
exceed 50% of the dealer’s internal labor rate and at a
reasonable labor time, not to exceed 15 hours, as determined by
Joseph Industries.
New and
remanufactured alternators, starters, electric motors, and all
other electrical components are warranted to be free from
defects for a period of three (3)
months from the date of installation unless otherwise
stated. Normal wear is excepted. Warranty allowance on any
electrical item is limited to the original Joseph customer
invoiced purchase price of the part. No labor will be allowed
for the replacement of any electrical items.
All non-electrical
Service Parts are warranted for a
period of three (3) months from
the date of installation. Normal wear is excepted. Warranty
allowance on Service Parts is limited to the original Joseph
customer invoiced purchase price of the part. No labor will be
allowed for the replacement of any Service Parts.
This warranty is expressed in lieu of all other obligations or
liabilities on its part and Joseph Industries, Inc. neither
assumes or authorizes any other person to assume for it any
liability in connection with the sale of its products.
Warranty Procedures
When a suspected warranty problem occurs,
contact Joseph Industries at 888-465-6737 as soon as possible
and ask for the Warranty Administrator who will give you further
instructions as to how to proceed...
DO
NOT repair or disassemble the product without prior
authorization by the Joseph Warranty Administrator or you will
void the warranty. You will be
asked to provide the following details of the problem including:
-Product Part Number
-Description of the problem or failure
-Product Serial Number (engines &
transmissions only)
-Installation date
-Verification of purchase
-Verification of
internal labor rate (engines, transmissions & converters only)
If you are asked to return the part to
Joseph for analysis, you will be issued
a
Warranty Return Authorization number
that must be clearly attached to either the part or the shipping
container. Failure to do so will delay processing and may result
in denial of your claim.
In many cases, especially with engines and
transmissions, the problem may be
solved
without having to return the product or even remove it.
If we believe this is possible, we
will provide the necessary parts and authorize the necessary
labor to replace/repair the failed remanufactured component
according to our labor reimbursement policy.
However, Joseph, must authorize any type of repair, before any
work is done.
If the failed component must be returned to
Joseph Industries for inspection, once the failed component is
analyzed, you will be informed of our findings within 30 days of
its receipt.
If the problem is found to be a
failure in material or workmanship, you will be issued credit
according to our Limited Warranty Policy.
If we believe that the failure was
not warrantable and caused due to other reasons, you will be
contacted by a Joseph representative to explain our inspection
results and disposition of the failed component.

Core Policy
Core Deposits
Joseph Industries charges a core
deposit for all remanufactured product shipped
from Joseph stock. The core deposit must be paid with
the invoice. This deposit
will be refunded in full when a like kind core in good
condition is returned to Joseph in a timely manner
as explained below.
Core deposit values are subject to
change without notice.
Core Deposit Credits
In order to receive full credit
for your core deposit, the core returned must:
Be of like kind to the product purchased.
Be returned to Joseph within the core entitlement period which
is stated on the invoice and packing slip.
Not have been disassembled.
Not have missing or damaged major components (special
"no-hassle" cores excepted).
Not have been abused.
If all of the above criteria
are met, full credit will be issued against the
original
invoice, if specified, or the oldest eligible core still
within the core entitlement period.
If the core has missing or
damaged components, the credit issued will be based
on the extent of the damaged or missing
components.
If a core is returned after the
core entitlement period or is not identical to the
product purchased, the core may be returned to you or
purchased by Joseph at the current market value for
the core or applied as a core deposit for a future
purchase.
If credit for the full core
deposit value is not issued, the customer will
be contacted with an explanation for the
deductions.
Core Bank
Torque converter cores in excess
of what are currently owed can be sent to Joseph
for evaluation and if accepted by Joseph, be purchased
at fair market value or a credit issued to your
"core bank" to be applied against a core
deposit for a like kind purchase in the future.
Note: The core bank is used
to keep track of credits that can be applied to
offset applicable future core deposits only. This
credit has no monetary value and can only be
applied against future core deposits. Joseph Industries,
Inc. does not guarantee a core will be available at the
time of a desired remanufactured product purchase.
The following procedures should be
followed when returning cores:
Engine and Transmission Cores
These cores cannot be returned to
Joseph without a Return Authorization (RA) Number. The
RA Number must be clearly marked on the shipping
container or attached to the core.
In some cases, a Return
Authorization Number is listed on the packing list
when
the reman product was originally shipped to you. If one
is not, call your Joseph Customer Service
Representative.
• All cores must be drained of
oil.
• All cores must be shipped freight pre-paid.
Torque Converter Cores
To ensure the fastest and most
accurate processing of your torque converter
cores we suggest:
1. Obtaining a Return
Authorization Number
2. Include your original Joseph packing list or
invoice
3. Mark your paperwork as "Core Credit".
The core must be in a suitable
container or on a suitable skid for
handling purposes.
Note: All cores being returned for
Remanufacture & Return (R&R), return to
stock, or for warranty consideration MUST have an RA
number assigned and prominently displayed on the
outside of the shipping container or delays will
occur.
